In the 1990s, Thailand suffered an explosion of new HIV/AIDS cases. Since then, through the spread of medication, condoms and awareness, the nation has successfully reversed this deadly trend. Apiwat Kwangkaew is among the epidemic's survivors. After more than 10 years of taking the best available medications, the HIV-positive Bangkok resident is indistinguishable from any other person. Now he is determined to continue the fight by working for Mercy Centre, an agency devoted to improving health care and reducing stigma for people with HIV.
